United Kingdom Crisis

Almost 4 years later, United Kingdom left the European Union a decision that most 1 in 5 people that voted in favour of Brexit are now regretting, with the inflation after the worldwide pandemic (Covid-19), with people now realising the amount it´s costing everyone's pockets, on top of that the current war involving Ukraine.

What in 2016 was 58% in favour of Brexit, that is, 58% of the UK population wanted to leave the EU would currently be around 42%, so if this vote were taken today the UK would continue in the EU.

With the closure of the borders, the English products stayed more expensive and, consequently, less competitive compared to the other European countries, who are their main business partners.

With this and as we can see in the graph below, despite the other economic powers showing GDP growth, the United Kingdom failed to do so, demonstrating the great advantage of belonging to an economic union like the EU.

To conclude, the United Kingdom's departure from the EU presented several problems, due to its separation from one of the most powerful unions in the world, directly affecting several areas such as the economy and politics.
